The challenges of this role are enormous – usually the activity is directly administered by the management board of the company and, at the same time, it is still being part of a global team which introduces new solutions for the entire organisation.
The tasks for this position include, among others, knowledge, understanding and improving current processes, mainly in the area of sales structures and customer relationship management; the transfer of knowledge in the field of process improvement from the group to a specific part of the company; preparation of process maps; establishment of business relationship with internal customer; project team management; daily cooperation in the field of project with both project teams and management groups, jointly defining the strategy.
 
Prospects of development
In order to cover this position, one must have extensive experience, gained ideally in consulting (advisory departments of companies, including the so-called "Big Four"), or in one of the areas connected with the sale or customer service. In both cases, it is important to familiarise oneself with project management methodologies (PMP, Prince and others) in order to connect it with substantive knowledge about the process.
As the Improvement Project Manager, we can receive further increasing challenges related to the projects improving almost all processes in the organisation. There is a possibility of promotion to the position related to the management of global improvements team, and increasingly broader projects within global structures of the organisation.
 
Requirements:
With respect to the ideal profile it is required to have at least 5 years experience in project management, gained in international organisations, higher education, very good knowledge of English (used very often in everyday work), very high analytical skills and excellent organisation of the independent work and work of other participants of the project, as well as high communication skills at various levels of the organisation.
It is necessary to have practical knowledge in project/ process management and full methodological knowledge about their conduct, and that is why it is crucial to gain formal qualifications confirming knowledge of methodologies of project management as soon as possible, because almost every our goal is a kind of project that we lead to a happy final.
